General Information
The Englehart & Area Community Arena Complex hosts an impressive ice surface that is open from the end of September until the end of March.
We welcome visitors of all ages to come skate, catch some local hockey and participate in the many community events that are hosted here.

Weekly Schedule
Family Stick & Puck: This is an opportunity for adults to help children try out basic hockey skills in a non-competitive environment.
- $3.00 per person
- For participants 3-13 and a parent/adult
- CSA approved helmets must be worn by all participants
- Hockey gloves are strongly recommended
- A parent/adult must go on the ice with the child(ren) they bring
- Maximum two children per adult
- No slap shots or goalies during this time
Pick-up & Drop-in: This time is for youths 12+ to enjoy some pick up hockey with their friends or just hang out at the rink, and play some games or participate in other activities if so inclined!
- $3.00 for hockey
- Other activities are FREE
- Pick-up hockey for fun and exercise - no contact
- Players of all abilities welcome
- Full equipment required
Public Skating:
- $3.00 per person
- No cost for support personnel
- Helmets strongly recommended for all skaters
- Helmets required for skaters under 12
- Only skates permitted on the ice - no shoes, strollers, etc.

The Penalty Box Canteen
Accepted methods of payment are cash and debit. In addition to your favourite arena snacks, this is where you pay for public skating and other events.

Ice Rentals & Sponsorships

Definitions
Ice Rental: 50 minutes ice time, 10-minute flood.
Organized Sport Association: Played by three or more persons who play and/or practice together regularly as a team in a league or association.
Resident Rate: Applies to resident of the Town of Englehart, Townships of Chamberlain, Evanturel, Charlton & Dack.
Sponsorships: If your business or organization is interested in sponsoring a public skate or other event, please contact (705) 544-2244 ext 5 or email englehartrec@englehart.ca. Please note that all sponsorships are charged the resident rate.
Youth Organized Sport Association: Shall be applied to any ice rental for any organization which is a registered not-for-profit organization or registered charity who primarily provides programming to youth, defined as individuals under the age of 18 years old. Individuals shall not be eligible to receive the Youth Non-Profit Rate.
Important Reminders and Information
• At the time of booking, please provide staff with information regarding type of booking to ensure we are prepared for your visit (ie. Hockey, skating, whether changeroom and/or nets are required, estimated number of people, etc.)
• Changerooms are to be left in a clean, undamaged condition. If the changerooms are used by minors, it is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that they are left clean and undamaged. Renters must inspect the changerooms and ensure all garbage is in the provided receptacle. Renters will be subject to cleaning and related costs if changerooms are not left in acceptable condition.
• Cancellations must be received within 48 hours of the scheduled booking to be eligible for a refund. This does not apply if the cancellation is the result of a significant weather event.
• Only required equipment and gear is allowed on the ice. No glowsticks, balloons or other items are permitted.
• No food is permitted in changing rooms or on ice surface.
• Renters who intend to host parties or other celebrations that extend longer than their rental slot/period must book the private party package.
• Only skaters are permitted on the ice. Strollers and regular footwear are not permitted.
• The Town of Englehart may provide nets, pucks, and skate trainers if available. All other required equipment is the responsibility of the renter.
• Helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters. Helmets are required for skaters 12 and under.
• Changing rooms will be opened by arena staff upon arrival of the renter, unless being cleaned or in use by a previous renter.
• Renters are asked to arrive no more than 20 minutes prior to their rental time and vacate no more than 20 minutes after.
• Renters may request a key to their designated changing room from Town staff and are encouraged to keep locked during ice time to reduce theft and/or vandalism.
• The Town of Englehart reserves the right to cancel or reschedule ice time if deemed unsafe, or if it is in their best interest to do so.
• Tournament Hosts are responsible for the conduct of participants. Please ensure adequate supervision to ensure Arena policies are followed.
• Tournament Hosts are encouraged to assign changerooms for participating teams.
